If you’re not familiar with them yet, the Last Prisoner Project is a non-profit organization dedicated to reforming the criminal justice system and seeking justice for individuals who have been unjustly incarcerated for non-violent cannabis offenses. The LPP aims to release and provide re-entry support for these prisoners, advocating for their freedom and pushing for policy changes to prevent future injustices.
The LPP recognizes the inequities and systemic failures within the criminal justice system, particularly the harsh sentences imposed on individuals involved in cannabis-related activities. Many people are serving lengthy prison terms for non-violent offenses, despite the evolving public opinion surrounding cannabis and its increasing legalization. Their team believes that these individuals deserve a chance at redemption and a fair opportunity to rebuild their lives, and so do we.
